// ABOUT THIS BLOG...

This blog's about stuff I'm trying out online in my attempt to supplement my income. /// The blog's name is really just a playful dig at the plethora of ways to (apparently) make money online. If you're gonna get paid to read an email, fill out a survey, write a post, brush your teeth, sit down, stand up, well, why not get paid to fart? I tell ya, I'd be a celebrity in my own right if the latter were true! A lady I certainly am not. ;-)//

Goodbye Neobux. Hello Clixsense.

img credit: julianrod

I'm not really a PTC (paid-to-click) person, but I've been snooping around one or two PTCs of late. Just curious – call it a little side hobby - not really looking to make huge amounts of money from it. I'd be 'duh' to expect that when I very well know I can make a whole lot more a lot faster.

I joined Neobux about 2 months ago with the intention of just trying it out for a month (pays up to 2 cents per ad viewed – I mostly got 1 cent clicks with the odd 1.5 cent ad thrown in now and again).

I stayed a bit longer than I intended – 55 days, to be precise, which is a big achievement where I'm concerned. I jumped ship after that – boredom had me gooooood.

I did make a bit of profit though. I invested $5 (to buy & recycle referrals) and got back $6.63. It was actually $6.76 but Neobux skimmed off $0.13 for the privilege of requesting a payment. Good thing, though, was once I requested my money, the payment was in my Paypal account before I could blink.

Now I'm engaged to Clixsense, another PTC!

Again, curiosity.

Clixsense mostly pays 1-2 cents per viewed ad. Apparently, you can sometimes get ads that pay more than 1-2 cents per view, but I'm yet to see any of those though.

I actually joined Clixsense back in May but did nothing with it. Reactivated my account a few weeks ago though.

I Upgraded...

I decided to upgrade my Clixsense account to premium membership as I wanted access to more ads. As a standard member, I was only getting an average of six 1-cent ads to click on a day, sometimes just two a day. The upgrade costs $10 for the year. Upside: I get to view more ads. Yay!   Downside: I was hoping I could pay for it using my Paypal account. But, nope – they don't accept payments via Paypal. Had to use my debit card. Booooo. Not too too much of a problem – just that I would have preferred to have sourced the upgrade using the money I'd made online.

How Many Ads?

As a standard member, the most ads I got in any one day were 9 and the least was 1. With an upgrade (to premium membership), there are about 500 potential ads to view at once. The amount you can ACTUALLY view boils down to your location. I'm in the UK, so I got about 270 ads when I upgraded. Most of them are worth a cent each (though I've come across a couple of 2 cent ones). Time will tell if I see anything higher.

I'm working my way through the ads fairly quickly as I'm curious to find out how many ads I can view after that.

Minimum Payout...

Minimum payout's $10 which is sent out by cheque. No payments via Paypal. Just cheque. I'm used to receiving a few cheques from outside the UK. That's how GlobalTestMarket paid me, and ACOP too. Just takes a while, that's all.

There's also a processing fee of $3.00. How the hell does it take someone $3.00 to send out a cheque? Am I gonna get a gold-rimmed cheque flown over by an organically-fed Olympic-trained pigeon? Is that what the $3 covers? 'Cos I could easily settle for an emaciated turtle on crutches if it'd be cheaper.

How Much I've Made...

So far, I've made $2.10. You can set the minimum payout above $10.00 which is what I plan to do. I'd rather get charged $3.00 on, say, a $30.00 cheque than on a $10 cheque.

Will keep y'all posted on my progress.

Weekend. Good. Have it.

Survey Update: Another Payment Received!

This one's from Ciao Surveys. Minimum payout's £5.00. Took me aaaaages to reach it as I got tired of not qualifying for a whole heap of surveys they were sending me. It's either that or they'd send me 20-min surveys for a £0.10 reward. Huh? 10 pence? For 20 minutes? I.Don't.Think.So.

Hadn't checked my Ciao-Surveys account for a while and then when I did, there was £6 all snuggled up in there. I cashed it out quicker than you could say 'Gordon Brown is a Twat'. Took about 3 weeks to hit my Paypal account.

I don't think I'm gonna reach the $500 target I set myself for the year. I'm at $305.52 at the mo'. But then, ya never know. We'll see. Maybe thinking I'm not gonna reach it means that I won't. Perhaps I should just assume that I WILL until I actually do or don't. Hmm...

Anyhoo, enjoy the rest of your week, people,

theeee one, theeee only, ebeleeeeeeeeee.

Yay!, Got Paid By Earnawad!

Got a £15 ($24.85) cheque from Earnawad.com the other day. Definitely not to be spat at as that's my week's shopping right there (plus change). Besides, who wants a spit-soaked cheque anyway? (Actually, I take it back. There are some odd fetishes out there. Maybe there's a guy out there that gets off on licking cheques 'til the ink starts to run. Who knows?)

Anyway, ahem...

So what's Earnawad, then?

Earnawad is a cashback site. You shop online at a select number of stores and get some of your money back on the purchase. Another way of putting it: if you're gonna buy something online, you might as well get a discount for it (which is what cashback effectively is). Percentage cashback on Earnawad can range from 2% to 50%.

Some of the sites that you can get cashback deals on via Earnawad include Sainsbury's, eBay.co.uk and HMV.com.

Can Anyone Join...

No, I'm afraid. UK (England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland) residents only.

Minimum Payout:

...is £15 - paid by cheque. Cheques aren't sent out automatically, you have to request it - but once you do, it takes up to 14 days to reach you. Earnawad does its payment run b/w the 10th and 18th of every month.

How to Earn Money on Earnawad Without Spending...

There are a few ways to earn money on Earnawad without buying a thing:

1) Welcome Bonus: When you first join, you get a £2.50 welcome bonus.

2) Free Offers: There are several free offers you can complete in exchange for a cash reward. Most pay b/w £0.15 and £25.00 per completed offer. I've never done any high-end offers as I suspect there's a lot more involved like a trial offer, for instance, where you have to give your credit/debit card details and cancel before the trial offer's up. It's a personal choice on my part.

3) Surveys: Once a month or so, you have the opportunity to complete an Earnawad survey. Very quick and painless. Pays b/w £0.50-£0.75 per survey.

4) Instant Click Rewards: This is a paid-to-click section. You click and visit a site and get paid for it (mostly 5 pence per click). You can't get paid twice for clicking on the same link. The section is really not that active anymore. There used to be a handful of links on there and a few fresh links that would be added every now and then. Now there are only 2 links (worth 7 pence in total) and it's been like that for a good couple of months.

5) Profile Update: If you need to update your profile, you get 10 pence when you do.

6) Write Reviews: Yep, Earnawad pays for reviews. It's the first cashback site I've come across that does that. It's a relatively new addition to the site. For each accepted review, you're paid b/w £1.50 and £3.50. Each review has to be around 300 words and you're given 7 days to complete it. The review requests that appear to be on there are for Holidays and Mobile Phones (PAYG/Contract). I don't know if they plan on adding other areas. Currently, there are 44 writing opps in the Holidays section and 4 in the Mobile Phones section. Most if not all of the titles in the Holiday section are for popular tourist spots in Spain.

Took Some Time...

I never really used Earnawad that often which is why it took a while for me to reach payout. Whenever I did log on, I just stuck to doing the free offers, the occasional surveys and the clicks. I've never been to Spain, neither do I have any experience of the mobile phones listed, so the review-writing aspect is no good to me as an earner. Now I have the cheque though, I'm kinda grateful as the money will come in handy. The timing's good.

And now for my shopping list. Tiramisu? Check. Chicken wings? Check. Tiramisu? Check. (repetition's not a misprint). Bottled water? Naaaaah. Too healthy. Tiram...

August: Online Earnings...

img credit: LeSmou
august plansBoy, I'm not sure where August went. One minute, it was August 1st, the next I was staring September in the face. It was just one of those months.

What I Did in August?

- Joined IM Report Card: IM Report Card has been a case of 'when one window closes, another one opens'. Just as I was saying goodbye to Work-Online, I happened upon IMRC. I'm kinda glad I did as I've found it really useful in various ways. This one's a keeper.

- Started a new blog: It's called Neobux for 30 Days. I was curious about Neobux, so I joined and kept a daily diary about it. Tried it out for 30 days. It's a bit longer than that now. I invested $5 and I'm now making a tiny bit of profit. I don't plan on staying there much longer. My curiosity is near enough satisfied. I really enjoyed the learning though and the daily updating.

- Joined EasyHits4U: EasyHits4u is a traffic-exchange site. It came recommended. I'm liking it so far. I'm getting traffic, plus I'm promoting a couple other sites on there. I browse 50-100 sites every day or every few days. I know some people don't really like using traffic exchanges as they can be a bore, but I'm actually finding it quite interesting. I use it as an opportunity to not just see what people are promoting but HOW they're promoting it. By the time I've done that, it's time to view the next site.

Earnings in August…

I made just over $200 this month. $204.12, to be exact. Not my best month, but not my worst either. It's money nonetheless; money that I didn't previously have.

Breakdown...

Freelance writing: $96.00 (private client)

Surveys: $59.13 [MySurvey - $8.48 (£5), Toluna - $17 (£10), HomeofResearch - $33.65 (£20)]

IM Report Card: $25.63

Amazon: $14.60 (£8.85) (sold a book I didn't need)

Proofreading: $8.49 (private clients)

Pickjack: $0.27 (still getting payments though I no longer use the site. I found the message they left with the Paypal payment a bit hilarious. I quote: "You get paid now so you see that now you no need to don't email pickjack to ask why your money are. Go to pickjack and write one question please and thank you."   Ermmm. Ooook, Pickjack.)

Anyway, roll on September. Good luck to everyone this month. Skinny dreams are banned. Dream BIG, ya hear?
